What's WRONG with you people that gave it 1 Star? Soldier of Love This CD is one of my favorites to date. Hands down. Some critics say it's too melancholly, or too programmed. Maybe they haven't been listening to Sade for the last 25 years. I think it will get a Grammy for album of the year! POSTED AT FRIDAY, MARCH 12, 2010 28 COMMENTS Return to yesterday... Valleys Of Neptune I only saw Jimi live once, but it was an experience that remains forever with me. Now as an aging fan the release of "Valley of Neptune", takes me instantly back to my youth. What an EXPERIENCE! Buy it you will not be disappointed. POSTED AT WEDNESDAY, MARCH 10, 2010 55 COMMENTS Lady A Need You Now Great CD, Shipping was good and price was right and Lady A is always good. POSTED AT FRIDAY, MARCH 12, 2010 470 COMMENTS Nice Surprise Michael Jackson: This Is It I own a couple of M.J's early solo recordings, and of course who didn't love The Jackson 5. I was recommended this DVD and got to borrow it from the Library. I enjoyed it as I had never seen MJ in concert. He was a charismatic performer in the league of Mick Jagger and James Brown.I watched the DVD with the subtitles on because even though I knew MJ was a fantastic singer, I could never understand his lyrics. Oh My God they have got to be some of the worst lyrics I've ever heard! Not GENIUS material. He did allot of repeating a certain phrase over and over. "Dance in the Round" "Annie Annie Annie" . I never listened to him after he got way crazy with the plastic surgeries and other exploits. He was such a good looking guy. He really did not want to look like Papa Joe.Rest In Peace Michael, if you are really dead. POSTED AT MONDAY, MARCH 08, 2010 35 COMMENTS Who says you can't take it with you? American VI: Ain't No Grave This is an excellent CD and I can't be more pleased with the entire selection of songs. Johnny has left a legacy and given us another great album that I'm certain to enjoy for years to come. Johnny has given us his witness and has stored his reward in heaven and is nowing reaping what he has sown. The Lord has given Johnny all his talents and Johnny did not bury them, but has deposited them while earning great interest. I trust that Johnny Cash is happy now more than ever for the road he has chosen. He has blessed us, too. The voice is a little cracked and old, but like fine wine it is better with age as he tugs our hearts more than our ears with this excellent selection of songs. Who says you can't take it with you... or maybe send it ahead? POSTED AT FRIDAY, MARCH 12, 2010 28 COMMENTS Crazy Heart review Crazy Heart: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (Ltd. Deluxe Edition) The music from Crazy Heart is fantastic. Jeff Bridges is a great musician and sings his own songs from the movie. I love the way they have mixed vintage country songs in with the new movie songs. Jeff Bridges gives Crazy Heart a heart. Her bell-clear, natural intonations are pleasant to one's ears. I think she should continue to amaze us with these interpretations of the truly melodic songs of both opera and pop from the past. POSTED AT FRIDAY, MARCH 12, 2010 47 COMMENTS Some Birds Are Not Meant to Be Caged Scratch My Back I`m so disappointed in the Peter Gabriel fans that have decided to write reviews for this disc. After all this time is hearing Solsbury Hill for the 1000th time all you want from the man?Like some of the great songwriters he has decided to cover here,he is an artist who is determined to do his music the way he wants to and that is that, styles and current fashions mean nothing. All of these songs are by people that the man has an affinity for and his voice lends to the meanings lying there in the lyrics, making their songs ripe to be covered but not covered up.His voice has always been dramatic and perfect for the songs he writes but in this context the result is clear that these songs really do need to be stripped and exposed while being interpreted in such a way.I really think that The Book of Love is just as important as anything he`s recorded in 20 years because hearing it in this context he makes you believe that the words are what they are...a heartfelt lyric about one persons take on love and being with the one you love. After a few listens you will like them all just fine, after all,if PG likes them enough to cover them why wouldn`t you want to listen?
Regardless,I will be at Radio City Music Hall in May to experince these songs live for myself. And he is also going to do some of his songs in the same manner...and it won`t matter to me if he does Salsbury Hill or not.
