Fun Read
Primitive
This book is a great thriller so long as you don't take it seriously.
The lifestyle advocated by the eco-group in this book is not sustainable given the current world population, and torture doesn't work.
Still, if you enjoyed The Da Vinci Code without taking it as TRUTH, you will enjoy this book for the thriller it is intended to be.
Read it, but don't take is seriously.
I believe global warming is man-made, but I believe terrorism always turns people against the cause . . . ligit or not. And this book implies that torture works. It doesn't.

It's a fun read and a good thriller. Enjoy, and hang on to your carbon neutral life-style, but do not take this book seriously.

A Must Read!
The Help
After sitting on my shelf for months I picked up The Help last Saturday and couldn't put it down. What a wonderful read. As a new bride in the early 70's I lived in central Mississippi for a few months. Being from New England I did not understand nor could I condone some of the things that happened.I appreciated the insider's peak at a world filled with the antiquated traditions and stereotypes of the South.

90%
A Bride Most Begrudging
Am always excited to come across a free download, because it usually means I've found a new author whose follow-up books I'll purchase. Unfortunately, after reading "A Bride Most Begrudging," I'd be afraid to buy future Gist books in case they end the same way. For the first 90% of the novel, Gist created enchanting and believable characters, and made the readers care. Unfortunately, without giving away too much, the last 10% takes the tragedy of American settlers too seriously. I've looked up to see if Gist has written a follow-up novel, in hopes that more storylines get tied together, and from what I've seen it doesn't look like it.

Excellent
The Apothecary's Daughter
I found this a fascinating story and enjoyed it so much that I didn't go to the end of the book to see the ending!

Well-constructed mystery
Shutter Island
Lehane creates a wonderfully creepy sense of place. Twisty plot. Solid characters. "Shutter Island" is an absorbing and relentlessly fast read.

Love this series
Dead Witch Walking (The Hollows, Book 1)
I got hooked from the beginning. This series is an action packed romance with a fabulous butt kicking witch. What else could you ask for?

Not what I expected
Booth's Sister
Though billed as historical fiction this was seriously lacking any historical relevance. I kept reading hoping it would get better but instead it got more fantastical. The plot revolves largely around the Booth family's acting and dysfunction and is heavy on quotes from plays. I was hoping to get some sort of biography on Asia Booth, but this book did not deliver. I know nothing more about Asia Booth than I did when I first sat down to read this.

Super read
Operation Sheba
Loved this book, full of suspense and even a little romance, Misty Evans outdid herself, the action packed story kept me turning the pages long after I should have been asleep.
Hope there is a followup on this story.

Incredible detail
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
The depth and detail in the book is exceptional. The mystery was so well developed and the various angles were linked. Flowing from beginning to end without that typical brief wrap up in the last few chapters. Well written and very interesting.
